I tried E Wok Cafe last night, what a nice addition to the Vegetarian/vegan community! The fact that we can get what we like at the hibachi grill, plus vegan protein-rich soy meat makes this one of the best choices for us. They have a good selection of vegetarian chinese and Japanese dishes and a sushi bar. Food was delicious and not expensive. Definitely will come back.

I love this place. Small, quick service, and delicious eats. Sushi is fresh and delicious and the bento box gives a lot of food for a small price.

Pretty good Pan Asian food for Portage Park. If you live close to the restaurant the food will probably come in less then 45 minutes.

I order from here through grubhub. I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Order often. Order now. Please don't let this place go away. The food comes fast, it tastes great, and there is a lot of it. Even my Polish husband loves this place. The fried rice isn't greasy, the food isn't way salty, the textures put a smile on my face every time. Great job, folks!

They are a decent place. I think they could step up their presentation a bit more. Maybe offer a bit more exciting choices. I do enjoy that they include samples, but perhaps make the samples be something people would WANT.

Good customer service. I placed a lunch order through LivingSocial & a little later I realized I had hit the item right below what I wanted. I called and asked if it was possible to change. The girl told me it was already made, but said they would make the one I wanted anyway. I appreciated that a lot.My order also came with a sample of some tempura broccoli. That was a pleasant surprise. I would have never ordered it as an item, but it was actually really good! For what it is, a mid range joint, not bad. The food was decent. I would order again when not in the mood to make food.

I feel bad writing a negative review for one experience, but I just can't change my mind. Ordered some sashimi and pad thai from this place. Sushi was a little warm, but it didn't taste funky at all. It was a little tough, but my review isn't about that. The pad thai was so odd. I get that there are about as many recipes as there are Thais, but this was so far from your average noodle. It was overcooked ricenoodles with really soft cooked yellow onion and green pepper in a ton of brown mystery sauce. The chicken was breaded in corn starch and was a little slimy after soaking it up. Peanuts? Whole and thrown on top. Granted, the flavor was fine and the portion was generous, but my brain couldn't get over it.The worst part about this experience was seeing how filthy the kitchen was when I picked up my order. There were things sitting in fryer baskets, stuff stuck to flat tops, and dirty woks left out. As a former server, it made my skin crawl.

I went to E Wok Cafe with my girlfriend for dinner. It's a small place, not too lively but very quaint. I ordered the Sushi Lovers 3, which comes with a California Roll and a variety of sushi, chef's choice. This was extremely helpful, as I often find it difficult to decide what kind of sushi I want, so I let them decide for me. I was very happy with the variety. The prices are great, considering the quality of the food. My girlfriend ordered the Crispy Chicken, which was also fantastic. The dishes also came with an order of Miso Soup, and they brought us a free sample of the Crab Rangoons, which were excellent. Some of the best I've had, and I definitely plan to get a full order next time. All in all, you get a lot for your buck, and I'd definitely recommend this place for sushi and Asian food lovers.

Glad I finally went to E Wok last night, it was really good. It's very casual, the restaurant is nice/clean, our server was pleasant, and the food was yummy. My friend had the Shrimp Tempura Bento Box, which she really enjoyed. It was a very filling, good deal at $10.99.I ordered the Alligator Roll ($8.25), Da Bomb Roll ($8.25), and Kentucky Maki ($9.50.) They were all delicious, beautifully prepared, and filling. I'm posting the prices since they aren't the giant sized rolls (with giant sized prices) you get at other places, but they're very satisfying. I took home half of each roll, refrigerated them, pulled them out half an hour ago, and I'm enjoying them as I write this review. They're still delicious!I ordered Spicy Fried rice with Shrimp ($8.95) to take home for my husband, which he ate today. He really liked it, said everything tasted fresh.E Wok is a great addition to the Portage Park neighborhood. Keep an open mind, as it can't taste the same as your favorite place that you drive to, but it's a good place to walk to and support in our neighborhood.

Decent, but not great chinese food. I have never, nor will I ever, order sushi for delivery. That's something you should only eat in the establishment in which it was prepared, in my opinion. My only real criticism is the fact that it took almost 1.5 hours for them to deliver. It arrived hot, so either they lost track of my order, or were just backed up. This place is about 4 blocks from my house.

GREAT SUSHI PLACE! I highly recommend it! I have gone to all the major sushi places in Chicago, and even some in the Western suburbs, and this is the place to go to if you are in the area and looking for a nice sushi place, I would even say it's worth a trip if you want a deal (the Irving bus stops right in front!). They are more affordable than Hot Woks Cool Sushi and offer the same quality. I have seen the negative reviews, and have had none of those experiences, only good! This is a nice little sushi bar and take out place not a fancy restaurant, so know what to expect: casual, good quality sushi. The interior is humble and quaint; new and clean, there is a sushi bar with a few little tables, great for a casual meal or take out. The food is very affordable and of a high quality (I have eaten the majority of the menu), the place is very clean and the service is fast and friendly. I would compare the quality to Hot Woks Cool Sushi, or Sushi Station. They have on occasion given me free soups and appetizers when I make a large order, which is very nice. This is a small new business, so let's help them stay in business by spreading the good word!

Ordered through grub hub, food arrived hot and came sooner then the web site stated. This was fine with us since we were starving ; ) Ordered lunch for 9 folks in my office. Only one item missing, they had it delivered before the others were 1/2 way through with their meals. Sweet potato lunch roll was very flavorful as was the shrimp tempura lunch bowl. Basically decent food, reasonable prices and very good communications with the restaurant staff. We'll order again.

At this point i don't want an apology, i want to keep other sushi lovers well.Doing a bit more research after they called me, i found record of major sanitation violations as little as 3 months ago.http://chicago.everybloc…

No point deduction for a misspelled menu (caught more than 5 misspelling but this isn't English class) or for the fact that the dine-in menu was literally the same as the takeout/carry out menu. And maybe I wasn't completely happy that my water came in a plastic disposable cup, not exactly environmental friendly, but this isn't Portland. I'll live. This is a super low key neighborhood sushi joint. They're new, and you can tell, because there are many things that they have yet to perfect, so cut them some slack if the decor isn't up to par. Not a lot of places in this neighborhood are. Food on the other hand, simple and basic, and passed my test. I'm a snob when it comes to sushi. I love nothing but super fresh sashimi that just melts in your melt and not on your chopsticks. I ordered the Kentucky roll which wasn't exactly my favorite, but it got the job done. What they did do well were the basic maki rolls such as Crunchy Spicy Tuna.....YUM!!!!! And the salmon avocado was legit as well. The fish was fresh though not a lot, and the size of the roll wasn't disappointing. Also, the complimentary miso soup and appetizer was a bonus! Yes, free complimentary.Service was fast and polite. I invite everyone who lives around here to give this place a chance.

Here's a wonderful sushi bar/Asian cafe that offers great tasting very fresh food. Tiny and cozy, the decor, tables and seating are minimalistic and feel exotic. But the big deal is definitely the food. I had the shrimp terayaki bento box that included miso soup and salad with a delish dressing and 4 pieces of California roll. My daughter ordered the crispy tuna roll entre that also included soup and salad. I especially like that the included rice is a gently fried concoction that is perfect with the shrimp dish. Ewok is on a main thoroughfare--Irving Pk Rd--but is much too easily overlooked. All I have to add is: Do NOT overlook it! Check it out!
