The food here is pretty good. It gets 4 stars, though, because it's the best food available at 3 AM when everything else (except some truly terrible places) is closed.

Very unimpressive. Really low quality Chinese food regardless of how late it is and how drunk you might be. I'll put it like this. It was late, it was the weekend, and I couldn't bring myself to finish my meal. I ordered a noodle dish with chicken. I'm sorry, the meat was just unpleasant. I don't think it was bad or rotten, but it was flavorless, tough, and really arduous to swallow. I got through as much noodle and the limited veggies they stirred in as I could, but I completely abandoned the chicken. I've only been there one time and that's enough for me. The lesson: As good as noodles sound at midnight, they'll be even better tomorrow from a better restaurant.

Yeeah. So Bamboo Luau's is supposed to be subpar late night drunk food. I have to say, they nailed it! Although I don't think I would have eaten this crap drunk. The General Tso's chicken (which I ordered because that's what everyone on here said was decent) tasted like cheap/old meat that's all rubbery and ropey. Yuuummmy, just like meat is supposed to taste. The spring rolls were fried to a nice dark brown (almost black) and it was unfortunate they did not include the standard tangy sauce to try and mask the flavor of charcoal briquettes.I was hoping the hot and sour soup would at least be edible, but it tasted like it was sitting on a burner all day (it probably was). It would have been OK if the crispy noodles weren't stale.Maybe I had a bad batch, but geeeeez, it was really bad. On the plus side, all that food gave my garbage disposal a workout!

So, you are tipsy, working on your 2nd hangover for the day, and you are starving. McD's is mobbed, WaHo has a parking lot brawl over the last seat, and you just want to sit down, and get some decent food. Well, for 2:15 on a Sunday morning, this place fit the bill, and did it well.As we arrived, we were greeted and seated promptly, and this place started filling up quickly with late night club howlers.I forgot our servers name, but he was a huge white guy, hell I think he was bigger than me- but he knew his shit, and was very friendly (hold that thought!).The menu was vast, as with most Chinese restaurants, and decently priced. The booths were sort of small, but the tables were larger and spaced out- didn't bother me, I just ended up noticing that.I got the Hunan Beef, as I wanted some spice. Also got crab rangoon. The food came out fast! The crab rangoon were decent- hot and crispy, so was the sauce. The Hunan Beef was alright, I wish it had more kick to it (I have been cursed a lot recently with that lately, guess I am due for a trip back to TastyChina!). It was pretty salty too, I mean you have to realize though- this is pretty much late night Chinese. But in the end, it filled me up when other restaurants couldn't.When I got the check, we got fortune cookies (yea!)- and it was eerily true what was said on our fortunes (was our table bugged?). Creepy! As we got to the car (my buddy was driving my car), our waiter came up and the first thing I thought was "oh shit, is a 35% tip not enough? " I thought there was going to be a battle of Goldberg vs. John Cena in the lot, as if the brawl across the street wasn't enough. Thankfully, he had our friends wallet she left at the table! With everything in it! That was sooo clutch, and much deserving of the tip. We will be forever indebted for your honesty! Is this the best Chinese food I have had? Absolutely not. But it came at a clutch moment, and I got customer service that I wish I could get in the daytime. Thanks again!

I've passed this place so many times on my way home, always curious what in the world was inside a chinese place that is open until 3:00 a.m. One night I dared venture there when looking for a lease greasy option on a Friday night at 2:00 a.m. Inside is a shady sort of bunch in a dim atmosphere, like most any usual chinese place except with a somewhat unusual vibe. We ordered some beers, egg rolls, seseme chicken, and something else. Food was adequately priced and food came out quickly. You know what? For a chinese place opened until 3 a.m. at night, and when there isnt many options after 11 a.m. this place is really great. The food was pretty good and the portions were plenty. Had more than enough food to have for lunch tommorow. I think this has to rank as one of my favorite late night options. I would probably never go here during normal hours for a dining experience, but I would consider take out.Verdict:A less greasy option for your post bar crowd, that satisfies and surprises.Pros:Open until 3:00 a.m.PortionsGood foodCons:Shady Crowd at latre night (DUH)

I love this place because it's open till 3am, it's never crowded, and you can get any cocktail in a flaming punchbowl with long straws. Be careful, you can get drunk pretty fast! I go here for the drinks more than the food.

Some people may be like "what??", but I've been eating at this place off and on for over 20 years and it's outlasted places that used to be even better back in the day. AND, it's open until 3 am DAILY (that's right lol). I judge Chinese restaurants by their fried rice and hot & sour soup (and they're both REALLY awesome there). I've of course had MUCH better Chinese elsewhere like Cali and Chi-town where I'm from. I also haven't quite tested the total versatility of their menu, but the overall quality and taste is well above average. For the best slice in Atlanta, it's Fellini's; for the best (albeit it run of the mill) Chinese food in ATL it's Bamboo Luau.?
